Thinking

Seems lately more than every I’m looking for answers in my life.   I’m praying, I’m telling, I’m meditating.  Sometimes there are more than one answer and I have to make choices, sometimes there’s no wrong answer but I still have to make a choice.  I want so to know what it is I’m supposed to be to do, to become, I want the answers now, I worry, I lose faith, then I gain it back.   My sister sent me an email today from the Message translation of the bible, and I really enjoyed it.

Psalm 139:13-16

Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
      you formed me in my mother’s womb.
   I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!
      Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
      I worship in adoration—what a creation!
   You know me inside and out,
      you know every bone in my body;
   You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
      how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
   Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
      all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
   The days of my life all prepared
      before I’d even lived one day.

There really is much beauty and answers in the bible if we look.  We really are God’s fingerprints.  I’ll keep listening.  Sometimes I think I’m just listening to what I want to do instead of what I’m supposed to do if that makes since.

The weekend was fun.   Saturday Rochelle and Valerie invited Turk and me to join Aaron, and the twins to Marineland, it was my first time there.  The dolphins are an amazing creature.  Beautiful in every way.  We were greeted by this fellow welcoming us by throwing us a basketball, he wet Valerie and Caitland, this was his face waiting for us to throw the football back to him

And you could tell by the kids reaction they loved it.

Later that night we went to a low country boil to a house on the Ocean in Ponte Vedra Beach.  Fun was had by all.   Julie, Theresa, Turk, Phyllis, Elise, Marci, Drew, Karl, and I.   Boy would it be my dream to actually live on the Ocean.

Bellies were full, fun was had, and we even shot some billiards.

  1. Wow! The Marineland and the beach sure do look fun! Great that you had a good time there.

  2. I’m not sure if you have ever had a chance to swim with dolphins Derek, but if you get a chance, don’t pass it up. I did it for the first time about seven years ago and it was truly one of the most connected experiences of my life. i realize that description is sadly typical, but it is also the best way I can reference the experience. Very powerful.
